The Athalye-Sapre-Pitre (ASP) College was established in 1972 with the vision of providing affordable higher education to the youth of Sangmeshwar Tehsil. The college began with two Bachelor’s programs in Arts and Commerce, laying the foundation for academic excellence from its inception. This commitment to quality education was further demonstrated when we launched our first Ph.D. program in Marathi.

Over the years, our institution has evolved and expanded, earning a reputation as a center of excellence in education. We are proud to have received several prestigious awards from the University of Mumbai, including the Best College Award, Best NSS Award (twice), Best Principal Award, and Best Teacher Award, among others. Additionally, the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has accredited our college with an ‘A’ grade in its third cycle of accreditation.

In our pursuit of academic diversity and innovation, we introduced a B.Sc. program in Computer Science in 2005, followed by a B.Sc. program in General Education (Natural Science) in 2009. These expansions marked significant milestones in our history, reflecting our commitment to staying at the forefront of pedagogical advancements.

Our students consistently excel in various activities organized by the University of Mumbai, showcasing their talents and dedication. A crowning achievement came in 2019 when our institution attained autonomy, a testament to our unwavering commitment to providing high-quality education. Despite this autonomy, we proudly remain affiliated with the illustrious University of Mumbai, ensuring that we continue to be deeply rooted in the rich traditions of higher education.

Today, ASP College offers a diverse range of academic programs, including Bachelor’s degrees in Arts, Commerce, Science, Computer Science, and Vocational Education. We also offer Master’s degrees in Physics, Chemistry, Geography, and Commerce, along with Ph.D. programs in Physics, Chemistry, and Geography. Our dedication to advancing knowledge and fostering research excellence remains at the heart of our mission.
