To empower women for a life of equality, personal growth, and professional success.
The establishment of a Women Development Cell (WDC) at the college level was mandated by the University of Mumbai following the Vishaka Judgment in 2001. In compliance with this, the Women Development Cell at Athalye Sapre Pitre College was formed in 2005. Since 2017, a separate Internal Complaints Committee has been in place to prevent and address sexual harassment in the workplace.
The primary role of the WDC is to promote the well-being of female students, faculty, and non-teaching staff at Athalye Sapre Pitre College. The WDC aims to empower female students and staff, increase their understanding of women-related issues, ensure the college is a safe space for women, and address practical concerns related to the welfare and equal opportunities for female staff and students.
The WDC is dedicated to the intellectual and social upliftment of female students and strives to empower them through guest lectures, seminars, awareness programs, and other welfare activities.
